Bourbon Street Chicken recipe takes about 30-60 minutes get the chicken ready to serve. The major ingredients of Bourbon Street Chicken recipe include 4 pounds chicken breasts fryer, cut into pieces, 1/4 cup melted butter, 2 tablespoons Olive oil, 4 tablespoons finely chopped pecans, 1/2 cup bourbon whiskey, 1 cup unsweetened orange juice, 4 tablespoons Flour, 1/8 teaspoon Minced garlic, 1 teaspoon Cornstarch, 2 tablespoons Orange zest, 2 tablespoons minced parsley, 1 med. onion, diced, 1 teaspoon thyme, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper, 1/4 cup heavy cream, and chopped orange and lemon slices.

The chicken is fried to brown with butter in a frying pan. 1/4 cup of bourbon whiskey is added to the browned chicken and heated until the flame burns dry the chicken. Later other ingredients including the diced onions, parsley, thyme, salt, pepper, 1/2 cup bourbon whiskey are added and cooked for 40 minutes or until the chicken is tender.

Later cornstarch is mixed into cold orange juice. Orange juice is added to pan juices and stirred over medium heat until thickened. Just before serving the heavy cream is added to the sauce and stirred well into the juices in the pan. The chicken is served pouring sauce over chicken and garnishing with parsley, whole pecans, orange and lemon slices. Bourbon Street Chicken can be served with hot cooked rice.
